IT’S THAT SEASON: A Short List of Holiday Shorts

IT'S THAT SEASON (I wish I had somebody cutting a check for no reason lol)! But anyways, I hope all is well for you all this holiday season! I’m going to be honest, this season I did not feel like getting into the long holiday reads. I don’t know, I wanted to be festive, but I didn’t want to read a whole holiday book. Then I was like “Mmm maybe I can look into some holiday short stories?”, so that is exactly what I did. I was definitely pleased with the few that I decided to check out. With that being said, here is a very short list of some holiday shorts that I loved! Enjoy!

All I Want: A Christmas Short by Alexandria House

Basically, in the story an unwanted guest is invited to Christmas dinner, and old flames are relit. Coming in at only 24 pages, this short story left me feeling fulfilled and entertained. All I Want was a little deep, kinda steamy, with a tad bit of humor. Although it was short and sweet, it still touched on serious subject matter and conveyed a message, which I enjoyed. All I want for Christmas is a man that loves hard like Lakeland! Santa pleaseeeee!

Trigger Warning ⚠️

Santa, Baby by Cassandra B.

Santa, Baby is about two friends, Cartier and Berkleigh, who fell out, but are coming back together to celebrate Christmas with their family. I REALLY enjoyed this one. There was a lot of family drama, secrets revealed, and a lot of love. This story right here had me HOTTT. I was pissed like I was a part of the family (lmao). All I can say is Cartier is better than me, cause baby I would have held onto that mf grudge. Homegirl was dead wrong (lol). After reading this I was like “damn Cassandra B. came through like that in only 52 pages?!?“ Santa, Baby was my first read by her, but it definitely will not be my last.

Trigger Warning ⚠️

Miscarriages

Sexual Assault

Home for Christmas: A Short Holiday Love Story by Brookelyn Mosley

The title tells it all. This story is about the reuniting of a family under one roof for the holidays. Home for Christmas has a festive vibe, a cute heart-warming story line, and enough conflict to make it interesting. It was very well rounded for only being 45 pages. Before I started this story I made a prediction of how long it was going to take for homegirl’s legs to bust open, and baby I was on the money! Sis just knew she had the willpower, but love will have you dropping all of that (lol). This was another first for me by this author and I will be checking out more of her work!

New Year, New Boo: A Holiday Short by Alexandria House

Now this had me kekeing! New Year, New Boo is a coworker hook-up/love story where the two main characters come together at a company holiday party. Crew Shabazz was a real one! The way he was talking after a few drinks had my jaw on the floor (lol). This story is short (only 25 pages), sweet, and funny, which is right up my alley. My mood going into the new year: NEW YEAR, NEW MF BOOOO PURRRRR!

Thank you to these authors for creating exactly what I needed! I hope you all enjoy these quick reads. Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Happy Hanukkah, and if you don’t celebrate anything have a good vacation! Peace and blessings to you all 🤍

Ciao❤️
